Dunn AC Limited was appointed by their client as the contractor to carry out repairs to the whole building comfort cooling systems and replace the failed server room critical cooling system.
The current comfort cooling system, comprising of X10 Daikin VRV systems, was plagued with refrigerant leaks due to the installation by others being completed using aluminium refrigerant pipework with compression connections. This practice was selected due to the building in which it serves is a grade one listed and hot works was deemed high risk by the installers. It was identified that the aluminium refrigerant pipework, that was only four years old, had showed signs of weakness and failure due to poor connections made at the point of installation.
Dunn AC replace the failed aluminium pipework and connections using Vulcan Lokring solder-less tube connections, pressure tested and re-charged systems with circa 250kg or virgin refrigerant to regain leak-less operation once more.
A new 7.5kW high wall mounted split system was installed in the basement server room to provide critical cooling.
Full O&M manuals, test and commissioning certificates and warranties were issued upon completion.
